Draft Designs

After deciding what I am doing with the AB promo I have completed the first design. I have decided to use Toom Boom to do both pieces of work. I have also done the first profile design for the pirate.

So above you can see a guide line of how my project is looking. First I drew out all of the walking of both Chuck & Chris, then i got a pictures take of the designs put it in to Photoshop and Rotoscoped over it. There was 63 drawings and 9 designs so for me to know how i could split the designs equally to show the birth of each designs growth before forming I divided 63 into 9 giving me 7 so before each drawing appears whole its built up till it reaches 7 before completion.

As you see here i have now completed the design and this is how it will look after the design finishes animating, after each design has been formed I show you its true form with the colours what make up this design.
This was my base point to start the Pirate concept after doing some image research I thought to use a skeleton as my base and then I added on top of that to create my first concept.
Above is the first concept design completed for Martin and surprisingly he was happy with it i did make a few changes were there is now only one boot and a prate which is the final design appearing above.

Beginning

So I decided to use 2D art style to show Another Batch designs. Over the weekend I meet with both Chuck and Chris to film them in a basic panel shot of them walking towards the camera, i asked them to were white t-shirt as it will be easier to animate with. I will be using a Rotoscoping Technique to show the growth of designs. So far we have released 9 designs so i will show from the 1st design to most recent.

Meet with Martin through the week and after speak he has asked me to design a concept for a game platform inspired of 'Street Of Rage' and 'Golden Axe'. The game name is called Pirates Vs Ninja, I will draw profile views either front and side or front and back of both characters I will also draw two poses and two level designs of them fighting or them fighting bad guys from the game level.

Idea

So Finally I Found My Client I Have Decided To Work For My Friends Who Own Their Own Clothing Line Named Another Batch As I Am Part Of The Team Thought This Would Be A Good Opportunity To In-twine My Outside Life With My Animation. I wanted to find a way of portray the designs with showing who the designer are while the designs are somehow creating them selves so I remember watching a music video were two guys was walking through different locations and different designs was animating them self on the t-shirts so i wanted to somehow to take this concept and apply it in my own way. Looking on YouTube I found a video were they used stop motion this was another way I could execute this idea. Link Below Of What I Found.

I Also Was Lucky Enough to help a third year another opportunity given to me by my tutor (Jared). I meet with a 3rd level content student named Martin Taylor who wanted assistance on concept art for a video game pitch so i plan to meet him and discuss what he requires for the concept work.

Industry Exercise 3 Brief

This unit builds directly on the Industry Exercises 1 and Industry Exercises 2 units, allowing students to use their portfolio of animation skills to develop finished broadcast animation pieces (in small teams) to be shown during Rave on Air, and to generate an individual show-reel to promote those skills to employers. Students also develop more advanced planning and organisational skills necessary to manage team productions.

This unit has the potential to allow inter-faculty collaboration through the use of animation to promote the work of other courses in the creation of animated advertisements for Rave on Air (product design for example). Intra-faculty collaboration is also possible through the use of other disciplines such as post production and sound design that naturally complement the animation industry. These collaborations will be negotiated on a per team basis.

Aims of the Unit

  • To enable students to initiate, plan, and complete complex team projects.
  • To enable students to work to broadcast standards of quality.
  • To provide experience of establishing and developing team project schedules and tracking progress towards project completion.
  • To enable students to demonstrate and promote the range and quality of their animation skills through the production of a show-reel.

The emphasis for this brief is upon fitness for broadcast purposes, if you read the learning outcomes and assessment criteria that follow this section then you will see that one of the main areas for your assessment is upon how well you meet technical parameters to enable your work to be broadcast.

You will be required to work in small teams, ideally, two, or three people per team.
